How to…#4: make a Chinese Knot Dragonfly

You’ll need:

Satin cord

2 beads ( or something that could serve as beads)

Scissors

Lighter

A safety pin

1.Thread the beads onto the cord and make a loop between them. This loop will serve as the dragonfly’s body.

2.Make a knot in the shape of an 8. Put the right end of the cord under the body and above the left end, and the left end above the body and under the right end. Sounds confusing? Maybe this picture will help:

3.Now alternate the 8 shaped knot. The left end goes under the body and above the right end the right end goes above the body and under the left end. And pull tight!

4.Next, leave a loop for the wings and make two more alternating knots. Push the knot up and there you go, the first set of wings. ^^*

5.Repeat the same procedure to make the smaller wings.

6.Once you’ve done that  just continue with making alternating knots.

7. When you’re around 1 cm above the end of the body loop cut the remaining cord and burn the ends. Be careful with your fingers!

8. Put the safety pin through the end of the body loop. And that’s it! ^^*
